Bertrand G. Parent, 71, of Manchester, died January 25, 2007, at the Elliot Hospital. He was born in Goffstown on May 9, 1935, and was the son of Fernand and Leda (Lachance) Parent.
He lived in Manchester all of his life, and was a member of St. Pius X Church.
He was educated locally and later served in the United States Navy. He worked for 20 years at the Manchester Highway Department as a truck driver, and 15 years at St. Anselm College in the service department. He was a member of the Alpine Club, the American Legion, William H. Jutras Post #43.
He had a great devotion to his family. His greatest enjoyment included fishing and camping with his wife, Pauline in Errol NH. Bert will be deeply missed by his beloved family and friends.
Family members include his wife of 50 years Pauline (Desmarais)Parent, of Manchester; a son, Roger Parent, of Manchester; 6 daughters, Patricia Foley, Suzanne Wilson, Diane Heiberg, Marie Abreu, Jacqueline Doumousiaris, Lisa Cassidy, all of Manchester; 13 grandchildren, Sheena Parent, Adam and Christopher Foley, Lexi and Elisha Wilson, Chelsey Heiberg, Renee and Danny Abreu, Leah, Alyssa, Haley and Dylynn Doumousiaris and Lindsey Cassidy; a brother Rene Vermette; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Wednesday January 31, 2007 at St. Pius X Church, Candia Rd. Manchester.
Burial took place at a later date.
