Bertrand E. Therrien, 94, of Manchester, died January 28, 2017 at Elliot Hospital after a period of declining health.
He was born in Windsor Mill, Quebec, Canada on July 9, 1922 to Alphonse and Odile (Mercier) Therrien. He grew up in Sanford, ME and lived in Manchester for many years.
Bertrand worked as a lumberjack in his younger years and later as a production worker at Chicopee Mills, Bee Bee Shoe and Prevue Products, all in Manchester.
He was a devout Catholic who enjoyed fishing, clam digging, horseshoes, watching wrestling and time spent with his family. He will be remembered as a good and loving husband, father, grandfather and brother to his ten siblings.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 65 years, Doris (Breton) Therrien in 2015.
The family includes seven children, Normand Therrien and his wife, Maggie, of Hooksett, Raymond Therrien and his companion, Lyn Danforth, of Londonderry, Marcel Therrien and his wife, Jackie, of Fairfield, FL, Gerald Therrien and Briant Therrien and his wife, Nancy, all of Manchester, Joyce Kraeuter and her husband, Carl, of New Ringgold, PA and Leo Therrien of Wurtsboro, NY; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; many siblings and nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: There are no calling hours. Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in St. Augustin Cemetery in Manchester. Memorial donations may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 265 So. Main St., Manchester, NH 03102.
