Betty June Brunette

Betty June Brunette passed into eternal life on Sept. 12, 2015 after a period of declining health. Born in Wood River, Illinois to Delmar and Pearl Elizabeth (Jones) Brown on January 26, 1933. June was educated in local schools and graduated from Roxana (Illinois) High School.

June follows her husband of 60 years, Yvon (who passed away Sept. 4, 2014); her parents; brother Decky, and sister Norma Jean, into the Heavenly Kingdom. She is survived by sons, Michael and his wife Therese, Mark, Gary and his wife Danielle; daughters Linda Pearl and her spouse Sherry Reasoner; Brenda and her partner John; her much-loved grandchildren, Christopher and his partner Kathleen, David, Stephen and his wife Allison, Nicole and her partner Alex, and Gregory; her newborn great-grandson Ethan; and her brother, Don Brown. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews across the country, with many beloved in Illinois. Her family especially thanks niece Sylvette and her husband Paul for all they have done.

IN HER LIFE

In the early '50's, on a vacation trip 'Out East' with her sister Jean, June met the love of her life and became the loving and devoted wife of Yvon. June was active with the children of Saint Peter's Orphanage and Pine Haven Home for many years. She served as sacristan at Saint Patrick's Parish, dedicated herself to the altar server ministry at both Saint Patrick and later Saint Raphael Parishes, and actively supported her husband, children and grandchildren in all possible ways. She was the model of a gentle, supportive wife, mother, grandmother, and community volunteer. Through many late trials, she hung on long enough to see and hold her first great-grandchild, Ethan.

June will always be remembered as a woman dedicated to her beloved family, and to the welfare of those less fortunate than herself, most especially the young.

June and Yvon's devotion to St. Jerome Emiliano is illustrated by the verse from James 1:27.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, September 17, 2015 in St. Raphael Parish, 103 Walker St, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations be made in her memory to Pine Haven Boys Center, 133 River Road, Allenstown, NH, 03275 or to Copper Cannon Camp, 231 Gale River Road, Bethlehem NH, 03574.
