Born in Manchester on December 7, 1927, she was the daughter of Francis W. and Bernice (Hill) Collins. She lived most of her life in the Manchester area and Melbourne, FL.
Along with her husband, Gail, whom she married on September 3, 1949, she was co-owner of Bower Claims Adjusters. She traveled extensively in the U.S. while accompanying her husband on his business ventures.
She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends and sharing all of the treasured memories of its heritage. She also enjoyed her career, reading and antiquing. She was active in business women organizations.
She enjoyed aerobic dancing and performed at the state fair in San Diego, CA while residing there.
IN HER LIFE: She was raised in a musically talented family and sang and danced from childhood through her teen years. Along with her sister, uncle and cousins, she performed for the USO at Grenier Air Force Base during World War II.
She was politically active and accompanied her husband to the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in 1956 when he was a delegate for Estes Kefauver. She traveled with the Kefauver campaign performing secretarial duties at his campaign headquarters.
The family includes her husband of 62 years, Gail Elmo Bower Jr., of Goffstown; two children, Cheryl Dawn Currier and her husband, Clayton, of Dover; and David Scott Bower and his wife, Sharon, of Hooksett; three grandchildren, Scott Currier and Jason Currier both of Dover, and Rebecca Roy of Manchester; a sister, June C. Goulson of Candia; two nieces, Robyn-Le Goulson of Candia and Maureen D. Goulson of Concord; an uncle, Robert P. Hill of Florida; and several grandnephews, grandnieces and cousins.
The funeral was held Wednesday, June 16, 2010 in the funeral home. Committal prayers followed at Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Rd., Manchester.
