Bruce E. Smith, 77, of Londonderry, NH died March 21, 2014 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Manchester September 8, 1936 the son of Colin and Irene (Bisson) Smith. He was a graduate of Manchester Central High School. He lived most of his life in Manchester and had been a resident of Londonderry the past 9 years.

He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.

He worked for Pandora Industries for 28 years and retired from Harvey Industries where he worked for several years. During his retirement he had worked part time for the Manchester Union Leader.

Bruce was an avid golfer. He was also involved with Pop Warner football having coached the East Blue Devils from 1973 to 1982. He enjoyed the simple things in life and especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends, Friday night dinners at the Backroom, sports, scratch tickets and traveling anywhere.

He leaves his wife of 54 years, Jane E. (Koskie) Smith of Londonderry; four children, Lynn Murphy and husband Michael of Manchester, Michael Smith and wife Elizabeth of Concord, NH, Colin Smith and wife Beverly of Manchester, Brian Smith and wife Beth of Manchester; eight grandchildren, Brenna Stone, Marissa Stone, Alex Smith, Molly Smith, Riley Smith, Hannah Smith, Casey Smith and Abigail Smith; two brothers, Colin Smith and wife Susan of North Carolina, David Smith and wife Barbara of Manchester; a brother in-law, Francis Tobin and wife Barbara; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Smith in 1955.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at St. Joseph Cathedral Chapel, Manchester.
