Carmelle (Boutin) Lacroix, 81, of Goffstown, NH passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Carmelle was born on May 5th,1944 in Saint-Honoré-de-Shenley, Quebec, Canada to parents Adalbert and Aurea (Grenier) Boutin. She married Evangelist (Evan) Lacroix on September 19, 1964, and they were married for over 60 years. They moved to New Hampshire in 1968 and made it their home, raising their children, and establishing many valued friendships over the years.
She was a woman of faith and reminding her family endlessly of the importance of God in their lives, their relationships and children’s lives. Her devotion to her marriage was inspirational. They often held hands and her love for Evangelist never wavered.
Carmelle always made her family priority and her children never wanted for anything. They had beautiful hand-sewn clothes, full bellies after every meal and the sense that they were loved. She was always ready to play cards or board games, and both her children and grandchildren would spend hours with her making memories.
If you ever stopped in to visit, there was forever a cup of tea (her favorite) or coffee, with snacks or a meal ready. Maple cones were often in the freezer. She greeted everyone with a hug and made you feel welcome in her home.
She was a wonderful singer, and the family never had a road trip that didn’t include singing songs along the way. She was always prepared for camping on weekends in the summer when her family was young and enjoyed RV’ing in Florida for several years during retirement in addition to travelling throughout Canada, the United States and the Caribbean.
Thanksgiving was a huge gathering every year that filled dozens of chairs at the table, and she never went without saying how thankful and proud she was of her family. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
