She was born in Summit, NJ on October 9, 1961 to Edward and Elizabeth (Fredericks) Dotterweich. She was raised in New Jersey and moved to Amherst in 1978.
She graduated from Mt. St. Mary's Seminary, attended the University of New Hampshire and earned a bachelor's degree in pharmacy from Northeastern University in 1989.
Carol was a pharmacist for many years. She worked at Walgreens throughout New Hampshire and Massachusetts, then managed the pharmacy at Target in Concord. At the time of her diagnosis, she was managing the pharmacy at Infusion Solutions in Bedford.
She was a member of MA1-DMAT and worked in New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina recovery. She also participated in the ASPEN Nutritional Conference in 2010.
Carol loved her children more than life itself. She enjoyed a day at the casinos and would use her winnings to shop for others. She also enjoyed traveling, riding mountain bikes, scuba diving, hiking, photography, skiing and shooting. She liked Jodi Picoult novels and the music of Jeff Buckley, Simon & Garfunkel and Mumford & Sons.
She loved animals and had many pets of her own, and also fostered dogs from the Manchester Animal Shelter.
The family includes her husband, Mark Proulx of Manchester; two children, Kyle Rezzarday and Emily Rezzarday both of Manchester; a step daughter, Crystal Proulx of Raymond; a grandson, Josh Mench, her parents of Amherst; two brothers, John Dotterweich and his wife, Daneen and William Dotterweich and his wife, Lyn, all of New Jersey; an uncle, Gerald Fredericks of Missouri; two nephews, Todd and Scott Dotterweich; and a niece, Kathryn Dotterweich.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at St. Pius X Church, corner of Candia Road and Sarto Street in Manchester.
