Born in Baltimore, MD on July 12, 1936, she was the daughter of Howard and Helena (Spring) Ballou. She was raised in Laconia and graduated from Laconia High School. She later attended Greenbriar College in West Virginia.
She worked with New England Telephone Company for 40 years and held various management positions in operator services.
She was a member of the Manchester Women's Club and had served as its vice president. She was also active in fund raising to provide scholarships for need based and academically qualified high school students.
IN HER LIFE: The family includes a son, Eric K. Tamke of Petaluma, CA; three grandchildren, Harrison Tamke, Aidan Tamke and Annaliese Tamke; two brothers, Richard Ballou and Howard Ballou; two sisters, Cecily Quimby and Helena Laduc; nieces and nephews.
