Carolyn R. (Dupuis) Rousseau, 81, of Manchester, passed away on November 29, 2024, at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, after a short illness following a period of declining health. She was surrounded by the loving family she dedicated her life to nurturing.
Born in Waltham, MA, on December 7, 1942, to Edward and Ruth (Hill) Dupuis, Carolyn grew up in Waltham and graduated from Waltham High School in 1960. Alongside her husband, she raised her family in Marlborough, Newton, and Waltham, MA, before moving to Derry and finally settling in Manchester, NH.
Carolyn held various jobs throughout her life, but her proudest professional achievement came after she returned to school when her children were in their early teens. She trained as a licensed practical nurse, then worked in Natick and Waltham as an LPN and later at Tufts Health in Waltham. More recently, while living in New Hampshire, she primarily worked at Goodwill Industries until earlier this year.
She found joy in the beauty of nature, loved animals and was an avid reader. She enjoyed gardening, music, cooking, crocheting, knitting, traveling and connecting with people through conversation. A passionate sports fan, she especially loved her Red Sox, Bruins, and Giants. Carolyn cherished holiday gatherings, especially Christmas, as well as cookouts and any other reason to get together with those she cared about. Her playful and slightly mischievous spirit, combined with a touch of feistiness, endeared her to many.
Carolyn's unwavering love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Her legacy of affection, joy, and warmth will continue to inspire and comfort those who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones, who will carry her spirit in their hearts always.
She is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Phyllis Belliveau.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 60 years, Richard Rousseau of Manchester; three children, Ronald Rousseau and his wife, Robin, of Manchester, Brian Rousseau and his wife, Stephanie, of Littleton, MA, and Pamela Rousseau and her companion, Joe Downing, of Derry; four grandchildren, Daniel Williams, Mitchell Williams, Hadleigh Rousseau, and Makenna Rousseau; two step-grandchildren, Tim David and Nicole David; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
