Catherine Clare Delisle passed peacefully on October 21, 2023 following a long illness. Born in Manchester, NH in 1950, her early education included Villa Augustina School and West High. She earned a bachelor degree from UNH (1972) and a master degree from Duquesne University (1974), both degrees in psychology.
Catherine worked for a number of years as a clinical therapist in the North Carolina juvenile system. After her return to New Hampshire she pursued self-employment and helped to care for her grandmother, father, and mother in their declining years.
Owing to her personal interest in languages, cultures, and history, as well as to her extensive world travel, Catherine enjoyed engaging people of all backgrounds in meaningful conversation. Her warm smile and affection will be missed by many.
Catherine was predeceased by her parents, Wilfred Delisle and Fanny E. (Newcombe) Delisle, Ph.D., who were professors at St. Anselm College; her cousins, Claire Belanger and Norman Mathieu, both of Manchester, NH. She is survived by several cousins including Louise Curry of Estero, FL, Guy A. Mathieu of Northfield, NH, Francine Mathieu of Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada, and Pierre “Peter” Mathieu of Dover, NH, as well as other relatives in Quebec, Canada.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Anselm Abbey Church, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Goffstown, NH, on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 3:15 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Animal Rescue League of NH,
www.rescueleague.org. However, any flowers for the funeral should be delivered in advance to Lambert Funeral Home, Manchester.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time to be announced.
