Cathy Anne Beland

Cathy Anne (Manning) Beland, 51, of Manchester died December 4, 2009 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack after a dignified and courageous five-year battle with breast cancer.

She was born in Manchester on November 26, 1958, the daughter of Robert and Lorraine (Cayer) Marois Sr. She was educated in the local school system and received her bachelor's degree from Southern New Hampshire University.

She had most recently been employed as the human resources manager of Fishman Transducers.

Cathy was a caring and compassionate person who was loved by everyone. She was a wonderful mother and devoted wife who enjoyed helping others. She loved to read and was very generous with her time and talents. She was very proud of her breast cancer team "Cathy's Cavaliers" that finished fourth in the Making Strides against Breast Cancer in Manchester 2009.

Family members include her husband of 31 years, Donald Beland of Manchester; one daughter, Amanda Beland of Dover; her father of Manchester; three sisters, Patricia Manning of Manchester, Lisa Caron of Goffstown, and Cindy Tweed of California; three brothers, James Manning of Merrimack, Robert Marois Jr. of Manchester, and Marc Marois of Chester; several nephews, nieces, and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Lorraine (Cayer) Marois, on December 2, 2009, and two siblings, Maryanne Manning and Bruce Manning.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Hemlock and Webster Streets, Manchester. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
