Cecil J. Brent

Cecil J. Brent Sr., 80, of Manchester died February 17, 2004 at Hanover Hill Health Care Center after a one-year battle with cancer.

Born in Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico on October 25, 1923, he was the son of William B. and Maria A. (Peresandi) Brent. He lived in Hollywood, CA for many years and in Nashua, Concord and Pembroke before moving to Manchester in 1994.

During World War II he served in the US Navy.

Mr. Brent was a skilled woodcraftsman. While in Hollywood he was a cabinet and furniture maker for such stars as Gregory Peck and Danny Thomas. In New Hampshire he did much finish carpentry at the Pine Haven Boys School and at St. Jean the Baptist Church in Allenstown.

The family includes his wife of 54 years, Dorothy P. (Rasmussen) Brent of Manchester; a son, Cecile J. Brent Jr. of Pembroke; two grandchildren, David Brent and Melinda Brent both of Canterbury; three sisters, Laura Marcis of Chico, CA, Susanna Driessel of Anaheim, CA and Josephine Brent of Manchester; three brothers, William Brent of Manchester and Wilbert Brent and Augustine Brent both of Los Angeles, CA; many nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday February 20, 2004 in Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St., Manchester. After cremation, encryptment was in New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
