Cecile C. Couturier, 80, of Manchester, passed away March 23, 2017, at Catholic Medical Center, after a courageous battle with endometrial cancer.
She was born in Manchester in 1936, to Lucien and Georgette (Metilly) Jean, and was a lifelong resident.
Cecile managed various shoe departments in Manchester, as well as working as a sales associate in the retail dress business, which allowed her to form close relationships with members of the community.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony Parish, having graduated from St. Anthony High School, where she met her life-long love, Donald.
Cecile enjoyed fashion, cooking for her family, and tending her flower gardens. She made life-long friends through her ceramics classes, and her creations are cherished by many family members and friends who received them. Cecile was proud of her Franco-American heritage, having earned The Order of The Legion of Honor from the Association Canado-Américaine. She also earned honors for her support to the 157th Logistics Squadron and the New Hampshire Air National Guard Family Support Program.
She leaves her husband of 60 years, Donald P. Couturier of Manchester; three daughters, Diane Scholfield and husband David of Huntsville, AL, Pauline Hughes-Wentland and husband George of Boca Raton, FL and Louise Berry and husband Richard of Fairfax Station, VA; a son, Marc P. Couturier of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Gregory, Matthew, Daniel, Brendon, Zoe, Catherine and Allison; her brother, Roger Jean and wife Francine of Bedford, her sister Pauline's daughter Bonnie: nieces, nephews and godchildren.
She was predeceased by her sister, Pauline Boulanger.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at St. Anthony Church. Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
