She was born in Manchester on February 12, 1920, the daughter of Arthur and Rachel (Laliberte) Provencher. She attended St. Anthony School and took her first job at Genest Bakery. Cecile also worked as a sales clerk for McQuade's Clothing Store for many years.
She was a member of the Lady's of St. Anne Sodality and Catholic War Veterans Auxillary Post 1842. Cecile also volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital. She was a very giving, kind and generous person who would help anybody. She was very social and enjoyed time spent with her family and friends. Above all, she will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt and friend.
Family members include her sister, Rachel Lavallee of Hooksett; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 30 years, Lafayette F. Sevigny in 1979; and four brothers, George, Roger, Gerard, and Arthur Provencher.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Belmont St., Manchester. Committal prayers followed in the Mausoleum at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Theresa Nursing Home, 519 Bridge St., Manchester, NH 03104.
