Charlene Paula Lavoie passed away on October 5, 2024, in Manchester, NH.
She was born in Manchester on June 22, 1955, the daughter of Marcel and Lorraine (Morin) Lavoie.
Charlene graduated in 1973 from Memorial High School in Manchester, received her bachelor’s degree from New Hampshire College, and her master’s degree from Springfield College, Springfield, MA.
For over 30 years Charlene was a Juvenile Probation and Parole Supervisor for the State of New Hampshire’s Department of Health and Human Services. It was a difficult but rewarding occupation for Charlene who, with her thoughtful, caring personality, was well suited.
Charlene was a Notary Public and a Justice of the Peace for the State of New Hampshire which offered her the opportunity to perform marriages for many of her friends and coworkers.
In spite of serious health issues throughout the years, Charlene always had a positive outlook and cheerfulness, much to the amazement of those who knew her.
For many years she was a devoted Companion of Sisters of Holy Cross.
She is survived by her beloved sister Lisa Furman and brother-in-law John “Chip” Furman of Exeter, NH and her adored niece, Lindsey Marie-Goode Furman of Glendale, AZ.
Charlene also leaves many close cousins from the Morin and Lavoie families.
Charlene always appreciated the love and support that her friends and coworkers extended to her and the welcoming and warmth that she received from the residents of her apartment complex Regency West in Manchester.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, October 27th from 1p.m. until 4 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester.
Her celebration of life will be held Monday, October 28th at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Marie Parish Church in Manchester.
