He was born on October 8, 1912, in Kittery, ME, the son of Edward and Minnie (Butler) Cassily. He had resided in Dover, NH, Rochester, NH, Newport, RI, and had spent most of his life in Bangor, ME. He attended Bangor public schools and graduated from Bangor High School in 1930.
He had been employed by CIT Corp for 34 years and retired as district manager. Mr. Cassily was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid train buff who also loved baseball.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Anne F. (Chamberlain) Cassily, whom he had been married to for 25 years. He was also predeceased by his second wife, Hilda (Bennett) Cassily, to whom he had been married for 20 years.
Members of his family include his sons, Michael C. Cassily of Manchester, NH and Dennis A. Cassily of Hooksett, NH; two daughters, Sheila Koot of South Dartmouth, MA, and Maureen LaVoie of Fitchburg, MA; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday September 21, 2007 in St. Hedwig Church, Beech St., Manchester. Urn burial was in St. Mary Cemetery, Dover, NH.
