Born in Manchester on May 15, 1924, he was the son of Charles F. and Cordelia (Martel) Laflamme. He lived in Manchester most of his life. In his retirement, he wintered in Ft. Myers, FL and summered in Meredith.
During World War II he served in the US Navy.
Dr. Laflamme was an optometrist in Manchester for many years and was a former president of the New Hampshire State Board of Optometry. He also served as chairman of the Manchester Housing Authority.
He was married to Marcelle T. (Chevalier) Laflamme, who died in 2005.
The family includes seven children, Susan Marineau of Hooksett, Joan Pushee of Manchester, Celeste Post of Deerfield, Claudette Burke of Loudon, Charlene Langtry of Litchfield, Charles Laflamme of Dover and Anne-Marie Miller of Manchester; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a brother, Paul A. Laflamme of Kentucky; a sister, Anna Kelly of Manchester; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
IN HIS LIFE: He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 5260 and served as Grand Knight. He was also a former director of the Lions Club and a member of the Jutras Post and the Franco American Association. He was an Eagle Scout.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
