Charles R. Marineau

Charles R. Marineau, of Manchester died June 23, 2018 at Bedford Hills Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Manchester on May 3, 1926, he was the son of Donat and Emma (O'Malley) Marineau. He was educated in the local school system. He served in the US Navy during WWII as a radio operator, having been awarded the WWII Victory Medal, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre and Philippine Liberation Medals.
Prior to retirement, he had worked as a production manager for International Paper Company for 38 years. After retirement, he worked part-time for 20 years for NE Micrographics. A devout Christian who loved the Lord Jesus, he served as member, treasurer, and deacon for Harvest Valley Church of God of Prophesy for over 35 years.
Above all else, Charles will be remembered as a lovingly devoted and faithful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who will be greatly missed. He was also well known for his sense of humor, always bringing a smile and a laugh to those he met. Charles enjoyed playing golf and watching sports. He loved the Red Sox, and if he stayed up late, it was to watch the ballgame. He also enjoyed watching the Patriots.
He was predeceased by one daughter, Jeanne Askham, in 2011; a sister, Claire; and four brothers, James, Raymond, Paul and Donald.
Family members include his wife of 69 years, Claire A. (Paquette) Marineau of Bedford; his daughter, Kathleen Theophilos and husband James of Concord, NH; three sons, Charles R. Marineau, Jr. and wife Belinda of Alexandria, VA, Thomas Marineau and wife Karin of Auburn, Peter Marineau of Providence, RI; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ann, Barbara and Florence; two brothers, Gerald and George; many nephews, nieces and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester. Burial with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
