Charles C. Pace Jr., 89, of Manchester passed away on February 9, 2012 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home.

He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 9, 1921 to Charles and Lillian (Christy) Pace. He graduated from Brooklyn Tech and attended Princeton and Cornell universities.

During World War II he served in the US Army as a PFC in the Army Signal Corps and participated in the Battle of the Bulge.

Mr. Pace was chief appraiser for the Federal Housing Administration in New York, NY. He moved to Manchester in 1970 and was director of housing for Housing and Urban Development in NH, VT and Maine. He retired in 1974.

He enjoyed golf and was a Paul Harris Fellow in Rotary International. He also was a member of the Granite Statesmen where he served as its president and was awarded Barbershopper of the Year in 1975. He was a member of the First Congregational Church and was active in the Men's Union. He was a 3rd degree Mason and a member of the Shriners International.

He was a snowbird until 1999 when his wife of 50 years, Jacqueline (Morris) Pace passed away.

The family includes two daughters, Dee Moore of Manchester and Claudie Kiley of Bedford; five grandchildren, Jennifer, Brent and Bryan Kiley, Boomer Moore and CTR 1st. class (SW) Amanda Dersham USN; and two great grandchildren.

SERVICES: There will be a memorial service at a later date. Donations may be made to Liberty House, 75 W. Baker St., Manchester, NH 03102.
