Charles E. Robitaille

July 18, 1947 — August 19, 2023

Bedford, NH

While holding hands with his wife and daughters, Charles Edward Robitaille “Charlie” transitioned peacefully, at home, from this world to the Kingdom of God on August 19, 2023.

He was born in Manchester, NH on July 18, 1947, sharing his birthday with his beloved Dad. Charlie grew up in Maine and NH and as a young man, he found high school very boring . He decided to take his GED and enlisted in the US Army where he served from April 1965 through 1968. Upon discharge from the service, he entered into an apprentice program at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, eventually transferring to Long Beach, CA to finish his apprenticeship in electronics.  He was lonesome for his roots and moved back to NH after enjoying the California life.

In 1976 he married the love of his life, Pat, settled in Nashua for over 27 years and raised two daughters.

Charlie started his professional career while working for NCR Corp. He eventually ended up working in the medical field repairing CT Scanners for several large manufacturers.

In later years, Charlie started his own CT repair company called DiaMed, Inc. and worked to build that up for over five years. The stress of being a one-man owner resulted in the decision to close shop and go to college to learn more about his real passion, computers. He graduated from Franklin Pierce College in 1997 at the age of 50 with a computer science degree.  He worked for several years until the tech crash in the early 2000’s and found a new passion for renovating old houses. He worked hard on many houses from estate sales and brought them back to life, finally settling in Bedford while working on his last project.  He learned many of his skills from his Dad, a carpenter who loved working with his youngest son.

Charlie’s favorite subject was math and he was self-taught. He loved logic puzzles and challenged himself daily to learn new math or computer languages. He was very generous with his time, knowledge and skills as a handyman, always lending a hand to his girls or family members who needed help with various projects through the years.

Charlie leaves behind his wife of 47 years, Patricia Ann (Trottier) Robitaille; his two daughters, Lauren Marie Lennon and her husband, Jeff Lennon, and Sharon Lynn DeColfmacker and her husband, Jon DeColfmacker; six beautiful grandchildren, Bailey, Connor, Liam, Keira, Reese and Wesley; his sisters, Claudia Reaves, Nancy Reed and Sandra Philbrook all of NH; sister-in-law, Helen Robitaille of SC and many nieces and nephews who thought he was the best uncle.

He was predeceased by parents, Joseph and Bernice Robitaille; brothers, Joseph “Sonny”, Donald and Richard “Dick” Robitaille; and his sister, Mary Robitaille.
