Charles Sullivan

Charles Sullivan, 69, of Hooksett, died February 15, 2014 after a fall at his home.

He was born in Scotland on March 8, 1944 to David and Jane (Gourlay) Sullivan.

He served in the U.S. Navy for many years. During his military career he served in submarine service and was Chief of Boat on the U.S.S. Gato. He later worked as general manager at Andersen Oil Company for many years.

Mr. Sullivan was a member of Sub Vets in Groton, CT and the Hooksett Congregational Church. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, gardening and bird watching.

He was predeceased by a son, C. Travis Sullivan in 2005.

The family includes his wife of 45 years, A. Augusta Sullivan of Hooksett; a son, D. Garth Sullivan and his wife, Shoshana, of Brooklyn, NY; a daughter in law, Julie Sullivan of Maine; two grandchildren, Abraham and Sara Sullivan; and cousins.

A funeral ceremony was held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester. Rev. Emily Geoghegan officiated. Private interment is at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
