Charlotte L. Dempster

April 4, 1937 — January 23, 2021

Charlotte L. (West) Dempster, 83, of Bedford, died January 23, 2021 at Elliot Hospital after complications from Covid-19.

She was born in Brattleboro, VT on April 4, 1937 to Warren and Marie (Beauregard) West. She lived in Reading, MA for 45 years before moving to Hooksett in 2004 and more recently to Bedford.

She was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Richard S. Dempster in 2007.

She is survived by two children, Lynn Denbow and her husband, Philip, of Hooksett, and Brian Dempster and his wife, Amy, of Westford, MA; four grandchildren, Christina and Zachary Denbow and Olivia and Owen Dempster. She is also survived by a sister, Nancy Hughes of Wakefield, MA.

Charlotte loved the beach. Therefore, she and Dick spent many summers at Lake Winnipesaukee, Newfound Lake, and most often could be found at her parents' beach home at Seabrook Beach. Other adventures included trips to Bermuda, California, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, England, and Scotland as well as a trip to Ireland to watch Brian's soccer team and Florida to watch the Red Sox in Spring Training Camp.

Nothing made Charlotte happier than watching and cheering on her grandchildren at a swim meet, on the soccer or baseball fields, or at a dance recital. She was proud of them all. A huge sports fan, Charlotte loved the Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots. She and special friend Connie could spend hours talking about the Red Sox over lunch while playing cards and Rummikub.

Charlotte's family would like to extend special thanks to everyone at Bentley Commons of Bedford for the care and compassion shown to her the last 18 months. She truly enjoyed and loved the Bentley community, the residents, nurses, and staff alike, not to mention her favorite activities - Bingo and Choir.

SERVICES: Due to the current pandemic, public services will take place at a later date. Private burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford.

Memorial donations may be made to the Hooksett Community Food Pantry.
