Charlotte Martha Dirgins 89, formerly from Meriden and Westbrook, Connecticut, passed away peacefully in Bedford, New Hampshire on January 14, 2026.
Charlotte shared 68 wonderful years of marriage with her beloved husband Ben, before his recent passing in October 2025. Her heart was broken when he passed away, now they are reunited and at peace. Together, they built a life full of love and family. She was a devoted mother to Brenda Willard (Bruce), Brian Dirgins, David Dirgins (Heidi), and Dan Dirgins (Ellen). She was also the proud grandmother of Tim Dirgins, Kelly Dirgins, Megan Dirgins, Hannah Dirgins, Brendan Dirgins, and Niki Nicodemi (AJ); and great-grandmother to Isabella Nicodemi, who brought her immeasurable joy. She also was aunt to Janet MacDonald, who will sadly miss her.
She was born and raised in Fairfield, Connecticut to Flora and Louis Rogers. Charlotte was predeceased by her dear sister Irene MacDonald, for whom she loved to spend time talking and traveling around; as well as her brother, Roland Rogers.
Charlotte was a brilliant and strong woman throughout her life and was persistent and passionate about what she believed. She was known for her sassy and spicey personality, a great sense of humor and for sharing her thoughts and opinions.
While raising their four children she worked as a manager at Permanent Savings Bank in Meriden. She then became a real estate agent, a profession that suited her outgoing nature and allowed her to shine. Mom never missed a detail and was profoundly proud of her entire family. Her adventurous spirit enabled the family to take great vacations that created memories for a lifetime.
Charlotte will always be remembered for her homemade mac and cheese and turkey stuffing that were favorites at any gathering. She had a penchant for trips to various casinos and those always brought a smile to her face. Mom was always available to help or listen and will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff at Bowman Place and Bayada Hospice. They provided compassionate support, guidance, and unwavering kindness in caring for Charlotte.
A private service is planned.
