He was born in Manchester on July 8, 1926, the son of Antonios and Polixena Kouletsis. He attended local schools and graduated from Manchester High School Central, class of 1945. From 1947 to 1949 he earned his degree from the NH Tech School.
In 1986, he retired from the 157 Consolidated Aircraft Maintenance Squadron (SAC), ending a 38 year career with the New Hampshire Air Force National Guard. While serving his country, Chris received extensive flight and mechanical training and served as both crew chief and flight engineer. He was activated numerous times into active duty and was proud to have his name included on Manchester's WWII Monument.
A wonderful storyteller, he loved to play cribbage and golf at the Derryfield Country Club. He also enjoyed participating for many years in the Armed Forces annual golf tournament in Myrtle Beach. He will be remembered for his loving nature and devotion to both his family and country.
He was a member of the American Legion Henry J. Sweeney Post #2.
Family members include his wife of over 60 years, Lorraine (Vincent) Kouletsis of Manchester; two daughters, Christine Kendall and her husband Peter Kendall of Hooksett, Ann-Marie Morin of Ft. Myers, FL; one son, Thomas Kouletsis and his wife Denee Kouletsis of Hummelstown, PA; five grandchildren, Aaron Kendall of Pittsfield, Alexander Morin of Ft. Myers, Amy Morin of Ft. Myers, Olivia Kouletsis and Alexia Kouletsis, both of Hummelstown, PA; two great-grandchildren, Audrey McFarland of Hooksett and Caleb Kendall of Pittsfield; two brothers, Peter Kouletsis and his wife Constance of Manchester, James Kouletsis and his wife Leena of Oakland, ME; two sister-in-laws, Pauline Frechette of Manchester and Constance Powel and her husband Ben of Galveston, TX; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church on Monday, May 10, 2010. Committal prayers and burial with military honors followed in the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
