Claire B. (Gaumont) Bilodeau, 89, of Manchester, died October 7, 2023 at Elliot Hospital after a brief period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester on July 16, 1934 to Wilfrid and Blanche (Demers) Gaumont. She was a lifelong resident of Manchester.
Claire attended Mount St. Mary College in Hooksett. She later worked for many years at New England Telephone and Telegraph Company, Lynch’s Clothing Store and J.M. Fields Department Store, all in Manchester.
She was a member of the Consolation Ministry at St. Pius X Church in Manchester and the Manchester Women’s Club. She enjoyed visiting the ocean, going on road trips and state fairs, arts and crafts and working on the computer.
Claire was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Francis A. Bilodeau in 2007 and by her cousin and dear friend, Br. Paul Demers, SC of Nashua in 2019.
She is survived by her best friend and longtime caregiver, Evelyn Ferris; cousins, Ruth Michaud of Ft. Monroe, VA and Doris Proulx of Manchester; nieces and nephews, Daniel Bilodeau and his wife, Carole, David Bilodeau and his wife, Laura, Devon Rains, Kay Bilodeau and her wife, Terry Neill, Jeannie Sciarappa and her husband, Anthony, Karl Bilodeau and his wife, Kimberly and Joseph Bilodeau and his wife, Laura; and cousins, Claudette Falkenberry and her husband, Wayne, Donald Demers, Gerald Demers, Dennis Demers and his wife, Pauline, Diane Martineau and her husband, Phil, and Pierre Dupont and his wife, Linda: and several great nieces and great nephews as well as many friends who loved her dearly.
SERVICES: Calling hours are Wednesday (10/18) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (10/19) at 10 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
