Sr. Claire Marie Bernard (Sr. Jacqueline Bernard) P.M. 82 died June 17, 2016 at St. Teresa Manor after a period of declining health.
She was born in Woonsocket, R.I. June 25, 1933 to Theodore and Gracia (Jacob) Bernard.
Sr. Claire earned a B.A. in music and a M. Ed. in administration. She was a teacher and principal at various schools in R.I. and N.H. She was also involved with campus music ministry at Rivier University for six years. Being a talented musician excelling in piano, organ, violin and guitar, she was liturgist in several places in N.H. and R.I. She retired at St. Joseph's Residence in Manchester in 2014
She leaves a step brother, Richard Dubois and his wife Helen of Westerly, R.I.; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, a sister, Claire Moon and her husband Bill and by two brothers, Theodore Bernard and Lawrence Bernard.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, June 20, 2016 in the Resurrection Chapel of the Ste. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH.
Burial followed in Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson, NH.
