She was born in Dover on October 13, 1928 to Victor S. and Dorothy (Gillis) Verrette. She was a graduate of Elliot Hospital School of Nursing class of 1949A.
Claire worked as a registered nurse at Elliot Hospital, Visiting Nurse Association and Medpool for many years.
She was a communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church and sang in the church choir. She also volunteered at the Red Cross in Manchester. She enjoyed flower gardening, bird feeding, many pets and playing golf.
She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Perry in April of this year and by a daughter, Gay Elizabeth Perry in 2000.
The family includes three children, Rebecca Dionne and her husband, James, of Manchester, W. Jackson Perry and his wife, Alicia, of Pembroke and George A. Perry of Hooksett; four siblings, Dorothy Ross of Rochester, Victor Verrette Jr. and his wife, Sallie, of Grinnell, IA, Andrea "Toody" Ross of Dover and J.R. "Ronny" Verrette and his wife, Henny, of Scottsdale, AZ; and cousins nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford.
