Claire L. Rousseau

December 16, 1942 — October 18, 2023

Manchester

Claire L. Rousseau, 80, of Manchester, died October 18, 2023, at Concord Hospice House, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Manchester on December 16, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Laurette (Rheault) and Joseph Blanchette.  She was educated in Manchester and a graduate of Manchester High School West.   She worked for NE Telephone and NH Insurance before dedicating herself to raising her family.

Claire was devoted to her faith.  She was a long time parishioner of Ste. Marie Church for over 40 years and was an active volunteer for Eucharistic Adoration.  Claire was also a volunteer at New Horizons Soup Kitchen.  She enjoyed meeting her “Morning Coffee Klautch” friends daily and also shared custody of her beloved cat “Inky” with her sister Pauline.

Claire was the sweetest, most thoughtful person you could ever meet.  She would always place others before herself and believed that everyone should be acknowledged.  She was a true “Prayer Warrior” and offered great care and comfort to all and prayed for everyone.  Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend.

Claire was predeceased by her husband of 39 years, Gerard A. Rousseau in 2001.

Surviving family members include two children, Michael J. Rousseau and wife Christina of Escondido, CA and Jacqueline C. Wozniak and husband Darrell of Goffstown; two grandchildren, Katherine L. Willey and husband Matthew of Goffstown and Lauren E. Wozniak of Virginia Beach, VA; two great grandchildren, Christian and Carter Willey of Goffstown; and three siblings, Henry Blanchette and wife (Cindy) of Manchester, Irene LaForce of Manchester and her twin sister, Pauline Blanchette of Manchester.  She was also predeceased by one sister, Theresa Snow.
