Claire A. Stone

She was born in Methuen, MA on May 17, 1926, the daughter of John and Phyllis (Snow) Abercrombie.

A very active woman, Claire was a member and treasurer of the Manchester Garden Club who also enjoyed tennis, bowling, and knitting. She volunteered for the Elliot Hospital Associates and was a member of the New Hampshire Institute of Art.

She was a communicant of St. Elizabeth Seton Church.

Members of her family include her husband 61 years, William F. Stone of Bedford; her children, Linda S. Deacon and her husband David of Cumberland, RI, Cynthia Chaston and her husband Jim of Needham, MA, William E. Stone and his wife Tracie of Bedford, Lisa C. Petersen and her husband Doug of Brookline, NH; nine grandchildren; one brother, John Abercrombie of California; one sister, Shirley Meinelt of Windham, NH; nephews, nieces, and cousins.

The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Road, Bedford, NH. Burial was in Bedford Center Cemetery.
