Clayton A. Pare

Born on March 27, 1920, in Pittsfield, MA, he was the son of Gerard and Sybil (Raymond) Pare. Clayton attended Manchester Central High School and prior to retirement, worked for many years as an independent distributor with HP Hood Company. Clayton was a veteran of the US Army, having served in the Battle of the Bulge.

He was a 3rd degree knight, of the Knights of Columbus, Chapter 92 and a member of Precious Blood "League of 1000 men." Clayton spent many years as a volunteer in both area hospitals, as well as at the VA and St. George Church. He also dedicated much of his time at the Manchester voting polls, supporting local government. Clayton enjoyed traveling, road trips and spending time together with his wife in Largo, FL. He was known to others as "The Breakfast Gourmet," frequenting local diners. Clayton could also be described as a "tinkerer". He could fix absolutely anything.

Members of his family include two daughters, Elaine Pare and her husband Deacon Robert Potvin, of Hooksett, and Michelle Tyler and her husband Brian, of Manchester; seven grandchildren, Michael Potvin and his wife Connie, of Hooksett, Christine Shea and her husband Christopher, of Concord, Brooke Tyler, Blake Tyler, Emma Tyler, Spencer Tyler, and Keira Tyler all of Manchester; five great grandchildren, Austyn and Caitlyn Shea of Concord, and Nathan, Paige and Grace Potvin of Hooksett; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 66 years Rita A. (Pichette) Pare in 2008; four brothers, Gerard, George, Francis and Robert Pare; and sister Irene Colpitts.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, October 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Cathedral. Burial followed in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
