Collette Mary Jane Makar, 73, of Deerfield died March 12, 2022 at Epsom Manor, after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester on March 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Herve J. and Jeanne R. (Desilets) Simard. She was educated in Manchester, a graduate of West High School, and worked for over 20 years as a circuit board inspector for Electropac before retiring in 2012.
Collette enjoyed time spent with her husband hunting, dancing, practicing archery and riding motorcycles. She also enjoyed going to country fairs. She loved children and loved dogs. She was dedicated to giving blood at the American Red Cross, having donated 11 gallons of blood during her lifetime. Collette was very generous, caring and giving. She was a very special person who was well loved. Her family was most important to her. Above all else, she will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
Surviving family includes her husband and best friend of 54 years, Michael Makar of Deerfield; one daughter, Cynthia Szumiesz and husband Derek of Manchester; two grandchildren, Zoey and Paige Szumiesz of Manchester; two sisters, Lorraine Roberge of FL, and Celina Simard of Conway, SC; three brothers, Maurice Simard of Deerfield, Edward Simard of Conway, SC and Andre Simard and wife Gail of Goffstown; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by both parents; two sisters, Lucille Long and Connie Simard; and two brother, Raymond and Denis Simard.
