Curtis G. Schneider

Curtis Gustave Schneider, 74, of Manchester died peacefully on March 16, 2022 at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston, MA.

He was born in Manchester on August 9, 1947 to Curtis and Lucylle (Freeman) Schneider. A lifelong resident of Manchester he graduated from Manchester Central High School and earned a bachelor's degree from Colby College in Waterville, ME and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

Outside of a short foray into teaching, Curt was a lifelong sales rep in the beer business, joining his father at Gus Schneider's Inc. and then running all of New England for the Genesee Brewery for many years.

He was an avid reader, genealogist and "amateur" Manchester Historian, an Eagle Scout, CYO basketball coach and a devoted fan of Central HS soccer and basketball, the Red Sox, the outdoors - including multiple treks to Nepal, but most of all his family. Gus, as his grandsons called him, never missed their games from Little League right through college. He made great friends everywhere he went.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Kathleen J. (Knighton) Schneider of Manchester; two children, Karyn Schneider and Chris Schneider and his wife, Tara, all of Manchester; two grandchildren, Jackson and Samuel Schneider; two siblings, Lynda Pearson and her husband Kenneth of Manchester and Craig Schneider and his wife Ginny of Tolland, Connecticut; and cousins, nieces and nephews and many friends.

SERVICES: There are no calling hours. A cemetery committal service will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery in Manchester at a later date.
