Daniel Cote

d. August 31, 2015

Daniel Cote, 71, of Pinardville, passed away at his home on August 31, 2015 after a period of declining health.

Danny was born in Sherbrooke, Quebec, Canada on May 11, 1944, the son of Leopold and Marguerite (Rousseau) Cote. He had been a resident of Pinardville since 1963 and the owner of Cote's Diner (originally Cote's Pastry Shop) for the last 47 years.

Danny left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He was passionate, generous, and had the most infectious smile. He took enormous pride in the role he held in the community through cooking, food, and tradition. He was also an avid sportsman with a number of outdoor interests. He built his first boat and began diving at the age of twelve. He also loved to travel, especially to Aruba and to the Faroe Islands. Many will miss his boisterous laugh, big heart, and tremendous work ethic. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.

Danny is survived by his wife of 11 years Gwendoline (Jacobsen) Cote of Pinardville; step children Michael and his wife Ruth Marie of Merrimack, Elizabeth and her husband Michael of Merrimack, and David and his significant other Lacey of Merrimack; grandsons Lincoln, Silas, Everett, and Otto; and brothers Rene and his wife Diane, and Richard and his wife Rolande. He was predeceased by his brother Suzor, and is also survived by children Stephanie, Jennifer, Tammy, and Daniel, Jr., as well as several grandchildren.

At Daniel's request, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CASA of NH or to the charity of one's choice.
