Daniel J. McKenney

Daniel J. McKenney, 71, of Manchester, died July 13, 2025 at Elliot Hospital with his loving family at his side.

He was born in Pittsfield, MA on March 26, 1954 to James and Frances (Burgess) McKenney. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School in Pittsfield and Norwich University in Northfield, VT.

Daniel was a mortgage banker for many years. He owned and operated Merrimack Mortgage Company for 15 years.

He was a former president of the NH Mortgage Bankers Association and had served as chairperson of the New Hampshire branch of the American Heart Association. Daniel was very involved at First Congregational Church of Manchester and a long time supporter of the YMCA, the Boys and Girls Club and several other charitable organizations.

He enjoyed spending time with family and a great network of friends, golfing, traveling and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed spending winters with his wife at their home in Naples, Florida.

He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Margaret Hewitt.

Daniel is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cheryl A. (Hastings) McKenney; three children, Nicole Beane and her husband, Lucas, Kevin D. McKenney and his wife, Christine, and Brianna McKenney and her husband, Derek Guest; five grandchildren, Alexis Beane, Tyler McKenney, Riley Beane, Callie McKenney and Joelle McKenney; two siblings, J. Michael McKenney and his wife, Maryann, and Mara Bearse and her husband, Marc; a brother in law, Neil Hewitt, and cousins, nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: Calling hours are on Thursday (7/17) from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. A funeral service is on Friday at 10 a.m. at First Congregational Church, 508 Union St., Manchester. Committal prayers will follow at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
