Daniel E. Smillie

He attended Blessed Sacrament grammar school, and was a graduate of Manchester Memorial High School, class of 1970. While growing up he excelled in baseball. He played in the Babe Ruth league, as well as four years at Memorial High School. He was a member of the Sweeney Post baseball team. Later hunting and fishing became his passion.

For many years up until his illness, Daniel worked as a caseworker for the Moore Center.

He will be remembered as an easy going guy that enjoyed life. He will be missed.

Family members include his mother, of Manchester; his sister, Patricia, and her husband Brian Moul, of Manchester; his niece, Erin Moul, his nephews, Brendan, Sean, Jamieson Moul; Aunts, Uncles, and several cousins.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Manchester.

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
