He was born in Manchester on January 14, 1953, the son of William and Myrtle (Lawrence) Horne. He was educated in the Manchester school system.
David had worked for the City of Manchester Parks and Recreation Department for 16 years prior to becoming disabled.
He loved to spend time working in his yard, fishing and being with family and friends. He will be remembered for his giving soul, big heart and generous nature.
Family members include his wife of 32 years, Debra A. (Sleeper) Horne of Manchester; two daughters, Candy Somers and her husband T.J. of Bedford, Sandy Carignan and her husband Derek of Henniker; one son, David A. Horne and his wife Tania of Manchester; five grandchildren, Andrew, Riley, Hunter, Devon and Aiden; three sisters, Joan Manning and her husband Keith of Belmont, Linda Longden and her husband Richard Sr. of Manchester, and Mary Gingras and her husband Ernest of Manchester; two brothers, Robert R. Horne of Laconia and John F. Horne of Manchester; many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2009 in Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 S. Elm St, Manchester. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the VNA Hospice, 33 S. Commercial St, Suite 401, Manchester, NH 03101.
