David Bruce Marihugh of Manchester, a US Air Force Veteran, passed away on March 17, 2026 at Hackett Hill Center at the age of 93 following a period of declining health. He was the husband of the late Monique C. (Blais)(Plante) Marihugh, who passed away January 24, 2019.

David was born May 5, 1932 in Defiance, OH to the late Vernon and Mildred (Greiner) Marihugh. He grew up in Ohio and went to Defiance High School, where he played football and graduated in 1950. He also attended Defiance College, graduating in 1960. He continued playing football his freshman year there.

Between high school and college, David enlisted in the US Air Force and served both stateside and overseas from 1952 until his Honorable Discharge in 1956. This timespan covered the Korean War and included a commission in 1953 with the 318th Fighter-Interceptor Squadron at Thule Air Base in Greenland. Later on, he became a member of the American Legion Jutras Post #43 in Manchester.

Before moving to Manchester, David lived for 20 years in Vermont with his first wife, June (Vallee) Marihugh, with whom he had three daughters. Once in New Hampshire, he worked as a Claims Representative for Travelers Insurance for 27 years. There he met his second wife Monique, and they married in 1987.

David was an avid sports fan and enjoyed working on jumbles and crossword puzzles in his daily newspaper.

He is survived by: his first wife June and his three daughters, Susan Marihugh Jantos and her husband Daniel Jantos of Australia, Holly Marihugh and her husband Kris Denton of IL, and Cheryl Marihugh and her husband Dr. Daniel Crowe of ME; his three stepchildren, Janice Plante and her husband Dr. Rodman “Rocket” Getchell of NY, Dr. Daniel Plante and his wife Dr. Ranjini Thaver of FL, and Steve Plante and his wife Brenda Plante of Hampton, NH; five grandchildren, Julian and Sydney Jantos, and Taggart, Connelly, and Sawyer Denton; three step-grandchildren, Anicka Plante, Vishnu Thaver, and Amanda Plante; a great-grandson, Cooper Denton; and a step-great-granddaughter, Lorelei Plante. David also is survived by his brother, Peter Marihugh. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and James Marihugh, and a sister, Ruth Warnimont. He also was preceded in death by a stepgrandson, Devon Plante.
