He was born in Staten Island, NY, August 2, 1915, and was the son of David and Mary (Tierman) McGuire.
He was a World War II veteran who served in the United States Army in the battles of Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Medal, American Theater Service Ribbon, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Ribbon.
David worked many years as a manager at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City.
IN HIS LIFE: He leaves his beloved wife of 59 years, Fay (DeFalco) McGuire of Bedford; a daughter, Rose Thirkill and her husband, David, of Bedford; a son David McGuire and his wife, Madeline, of Mt. Laurel, NJ; and four grandchildren, Lauren, Ashley, Mac and Caroline.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, April 23, 2009 in St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave. Burial, with military honors, followed in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery Boscawen NH.
