David B. Ostman, 56, of Deerfield, died May 6, 2016 at his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in Lowell, MA on August 4, 1959 to Barry and Sandra (Carkin) Ostman. He lived in Deerfield for many years.
David worked as a self-employed finish carpenter. He was a knowledgeable vegetable gardener who enjoyed cooking with ingredients made from scratch. He also enjoyed fishing, maple sugaring and attending blues festivals.
He was predeceased by his father and by his longtime companion, Claudette Caine.
The family includes his mother, Sandra L. (Carkin) Ostman of Merrimack; two brothers, Eric Ostman of Weare and Jeffrey A. Ostman of Merrimack; three stepchildren, Melissa Caine, Robyn Bistany and Robert Caine all of Manchester; five step grandchildren, Desma McNeary-Caine, Brooklyn McNeary-Caine, Camden Caine, Madison Caine and Rylan Collazo; and cousins.
