David L. Shatney

July 25, 1938 — February 11, 2018

David L. Shatney Sr, of Goffstown died February 11, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Peacham, VT on July 25, 1938, he was the son of Clarence and Helen (Taylor) Shatney. He was educated in the Brattleboro school system.
After graduating high school, he served 8 years in the US Navy.
Prior to retirement, he had been self-employed for many years.
David loved socializing with family and friends. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed collecting cars and trucks. Above all else, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his son Robert Shatney, his granddaughter Amy Lamotte and his son-in-law James Linehan.
Family members include his wife, Simone (Lefebvre) Shatney of Goffstown; his children, Deborah Champagne and husband Raymond of Columbia, SC, David Shatney Jr and wife Holly of Manchester, Amy Dineen and husband Edward of West Edmeston, NY, James Bobo of Weare, Roger Bobo and wife Lisa of Manchester, Tammy Bobo of Allenstown, Claire Drew and husband Todd of Pittsfield, Lorraine Linehan of Manchester, Denise Castiglioni and husband Albert of Chichester; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. He is also survived by his dog Amber and his cat Buddy.
Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Goffstown, in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Manchester Animal Shelter, 490 Dunbarton Road, Manchester, NH 03102 or to the National Kidney Foundation, 814 Elm St, Manchester, NH 03101.
