Mr. David E. Wiggin, 91, of Manchester, died on December 25, 2021 at Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on March 30, 1930, David was the son of the late George T. Wiggin, Sr. and Bernice (Hilchey) Wiggin. Raised in Bedford he was a graduate of Manchester West High School, class of 1948. Following high school David was in the Marine Corps between the years of 1948-1952. Upon leaving the Marine Corps, he returned to Bedford to work on the family farm.
David married Beverly S. Cone on April 20, 1956. They resided in Manchester and then Bedford until 1966 when they moved to Goffstown, where he briefly ran the Animal Rescue League. He then worked as a salesman in the tire industry until his retirement. After moving many times, David and his family returned to Bedford in 1976, before moving to Manchester in 1993.
Family meant the most to David. He and Beverly were inseparable and, even after she suffered a stroke in 2009 and eventually moved into a nursing home, he would visit her twice a day, every day, until her passing in 2016. He coached and managed his son's baseball teams,loved attending high school football games with his son Jeff and his grandchildren's sporting events, dance recitals and talent shows.
David was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and Notre Dame Football teams. He enjoyed reading the daily newspaper, loved country music and, until his recent health decline, spent many mornings driving himself to breakfast at his favorite restaurants, Bagg Family Lunch and Blakes Restaurant.
David was predeceased by his wife, Beverly C. Wiggin; his son, Mark E. Wiggin; his grandson, Kyle T. Sack; his sisters, Christine Wolffer and Virginia Robinson and his brother, George T. Wiggin, Jr.
He is survived by his children, Karen Sack and husband Gary of Raymore, MO, Jeffrey Wiggin of Manchester, Kimberly Schultze and husband Carl of Manchester and Todd Wiggin and wife Daniela of Wesley Chapel, FL; his daughter-in-law, Anne Wiggin of Manchester; his grandchildren, Nicholas Sack, Kelly Wiggin, Taylor Wiggin, Parker Wiggin, Sarah Schultze, Benjamin Schultze, Maya Wiggin and Lincoln Wiggin; his great grandchildren, Kaylee and Chloe Wiggin, Madison and Ava Sack, Harper and Bruno Tolini; Emily Keller and Katy Tines; his sister, Margaret Wiggin and many nieces and nephews.
SERVICES: A walk-through visitation with masks, social distancing and limited interaction with the family is Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. The funeral is private and burial will be in the spring at Bedford Center Cemetery in Bedford.
