Debra Kay (Hokenson) White passed away peacefully at her home in Manchester on Friday, June 6, 2025, due to complications of pancreatic cancer. She was born in Marinette, Wisconsin on September 13, 1954 to the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Faber) Hokenson. Upon her mother’s passing, when Debbie was three, her father moved the family to the Washington, D.C., Silver Spring and Maryland area where she was raised and became a registered nurse. She met her husband Greg at George Washington University Hospital, where he was working as a medical resident and nurse.
Upon arrival in New Hampshire, she worked as an office nurse in her husband’s newly established primary care practice in Manchester. Her two children, Lauren and Shaun soon followed. After taking time off during the children’s early years, she worked for Interim Health Care in Manchester until October of 2023. She was a home care visiting nurse and later in her career a home care supervisor. She was greatly loved by all her fellow staff and patients alike and got great satisfaction helping her patients.
Her biggest interest was her family and home. She loved decorating the home and designing the landscaping. She loved spending time with the children on activities including kid’s sports and other activities, family trips skiing and to the ocean and various theme parks. She had many good times on the family sailboat on Lake Winnipesauke and enjoyed winter vacations in Cancun. Later, when grandchildren came, she and Greg enjoyed visiting them and taking advantage of new experiences as they were in different areas of the country.
Debra is survived by her her beloved husband: Greg; her two children: Lauren Crotty and her husband Richard and Shaun White and his wife Alyssa; her four grandchildren: Evan and Katherine, currently at Cannon Air Force base in Clovis, New Mexico and Adalyn, Carter, and Cooper of Papillion, Nebraska; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her two sisters: Nikki Hokenson and Janice Dillon, both of Maryland.
