Dennis W. Brown, 89, of Windham, NH, passed peacefully on December 30, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Somerdale, OH, on April 27, 1934, to John and Lula (Denslow) Brown, he went on to earn his bachelor’s degree from Case University in Cleveland and his master’s degree in engineering from the University of Michigan.
He was proud to serve in the United States Air Force for six years and in the Air National Guard for an additional year, prior to his retirement with the rank of Captain.
Dennis worked in the space shuttle program for N.A.S.A. and later as an aerospace engineer for Charles Stark Draper Laboratory in Cambridge, MA.
He was always ready to apply his vast knowledge and skills to myriad projects and activities for his whole family. From building projects to bedtime stories, backyard farming to family history, stargazing to stained glass, he embraced learning new skills and sharing them with his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene (Paquin) Brown of Windham, NH; by his six children, Karen Zolnay and husband Stephen of Stockton, NJ, Noreen Mecklenborg and husband Michael of Londonderry, NH, Lauren Russell and husband Richard of Stockton, NJ, Kevin Brown and wife Teresa of Milan, NH, Kerry Brown and wife Mabel of Windham, NH, Kyla Luquette and husband William of Litchfield, NH; by 17 grandchildren; and by two great-grandchildren.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, will be Thursday from 5 to 7 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 5th at 11 am in St. Matthew Church, Searles Rd, Windham. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Manchester.
