Denny, as friends and family knew her, was born in North Troy, VT, October 2, 1927, the daughter of Ovila A. and Jeanne (Roberge) Benoit. She grew up and attended school in North Troy, VT but was a resident of Manchester since 1943. She married Leo E. Lamy at St. Jean Baptist Church in a famous triple wedding along with her sisters Martha Petrin and the late Muriel Farnham.
Denny devoted considerable time to helping and volunteering in many youth activities to include Pac 135 Cub Scouts, Troop 135 Boy Scouts, Campfire Girls, and Sacred Heart CYO. Later in life she enjoyed knitting, doing crafts, gardening, collecting thimbles, and spending time with her grandchildren. She also spent 30 years researching the family genealogy and was a long time member of the American-Canadian Genealogical Society.
Members of her family include her beloved husband of 59 years, Leo E. Lamy of Manchester; three children, Perry Lamy and wife Peggy, grandchildren Alex, Christine (died as an infant), & Nicholas of Fairview, TX, Gary Lamy and wife Lee Ann, grandchildren Christopher & Michelle of Chester, NH, and Robin Lamy of Bethel, AK; a sister, Martha Petrin of South Windsor, CT, and many loved nephews, nieces, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday April 27, 2007 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Encryptment followed in Mount Calvary Mausoleum.
