Diann S. Ball, 59, of Manchester, NH, beloved wife of John S. Ball III passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 29, 2012 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH.

She was born in Bennington, VT, December 27, 1952 the daughter of Ernest and Margaret (Danforth) Gauthier. She had been a resident of Manchester, NH since 1984.

Diann graduated from Mt. Anthony Union High School in 1970, Southern New Hampshire University in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science degree, a member of the National Honor Society in Business Administration, Delta Mu Delta, and Rivier College in 1999 with a Masters of Education, magna cum laude. Diann was employed by Fidelity Investments as a service integration manager. While employed she volunteered extensively in various community and charitable endeavors.

She was a communicant of St. Catherine Church.

She leaves her husband of 34 yrs, John S. Ball, III of Manchester; two children, Scott A. Stemp and Carrie L. Stemp-Wszolek, both of Goffstown; four grandchildren, Amara Stemp, Kyle Stemp, Samantha Wszolek and Brittany Wszolek; one great granddaughter, Jocelyn Wszolek; five siblings, David Gauthier, Thomas Gauthier, Sandra Sinclair (husband Martin), Linda Knapp (husband Richard) and Lawrence Gauthier, all of Bennington, VT; many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by both parents, two siblings, Robert Gauthier and Nancy Gauthier Hathaway.

Diann was the love of John's life and through the years enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. She was an avid gardener, shopper extraordinar and a wonderful hostess for all occasions.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the staff of Dana Farber Cancer Center at the Faulkner Hospital, Boston, MA, especially Dr. Peter Enzinger, Michael Casey, NP and Michelle Daly her favorite nurse. The family is particularly grateful to the staff at the Community Hospice House for their exceptional care and compassion to Diann and her family. A special thank you to Fr. Paul for his prayers, kind words and many visits to Diann at home, and the Community Hospice House which were deeply appreciated.

A Mass of Christian burial officiated by Fr. Paul Montminy was held on Saturday, August 4, 2012 at St. Catherine Church, Webster St., Manchester, NH. Burial will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
