Donald J. Booth, 88, of Manchester, died February 6, 2012 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born in Manchester on January 8, 1924 to Carl and Gertrude (Erlman) Booth. He graduated from West High School class of 1941A and was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.

Mr. Booth worked for Public Service Company of New Hampshire for many years, first as a lineman and then as a supervisor.

He was an avid golfer and a member of the Intervale Country Club for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 79, the Raphael Club and the YMCA of Greater Manchester.

He enjoyed all sports and was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team in 1941.

The family includes his wife of 66 years, Betty (Cassmassi) Booth of Manchester; three children, Diane K. Beaudry and her husband, Andre, of Manchester, Patricia L. Booth and her husband, Ralph Stalter Jr., of Las Vegas, NV and Gary D. Booth and his wife, Diana, of Manchester; four grandchildren, Jefferson Beaudry and his wife, Sara, Allison Seney and her husband, William, McGregor Booth and Cody Booth; a great grandchild, Brit Beaudry; one cousin and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, February 10, 2012 at St. Raphael Church, Walker Street, Manchester. Private encryptment was in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
