Donald L. Cusson

Born in Manchester on March 3, 1932, he was the son of Louis and Blanche (Auclair) Cusson. He was a lifelong resident of Manchester.

He attended St. Anselm College and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of New Hampshire. He later graduated from Tufts Medical School, then served his residency in neurosurgery and orthopedic surgery at the Guthrie Clinic in Pennsylvania.

During the sixties, Dr. Cusson served as a Lt. Commander in the United States Navy, stationed at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Dr. Cusson had a private practice as an orthopedic surgeon in Manchester for many years and retired in 1996. He served as Chief Orthopedic Surgeon at Catholic Medical Center and was also affiliated with the Elliot Hospital. During the conflict in Bosnia, he served as a medical missionary.

He was a member of the New Hampshire Medical Society and the League of 1000 Men of the Precious Blood. He enjoyed classic cars and antique boats.

IN HIS LIFE: The family includes his wife, Marguerite C. (deRedon) Cusson of Manchester; six children, Gregory Cusson and his wife, Christine of Westminster, MD, Anne-Marie Cusson of New York, NY, Pamela Reyes and her husband, Rudy of San Diego, CA, Mark Cusson and his wife, Kim of Manchester, Barry Cusson and his wife, Alena of Eliot, ME and Izabela Dankic and her husband, Bruno of Mostar, Bosnia; eight grandchildren; a brother, Roland Cusson of Alaska; a sister, Charlotte Provost of Florida and cousins and nieces.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, August 20, 2008 at St. Anselm Abbey Church, 100 St. Anselm Drive, Manchester. Committal prayers and encryptment followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
