Donald F. Lafond

He was born in Manchester on March 19, 1954, the son of Harold Lafond and Rose Vanasse. He was educated in the Manchester school system and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central. He received his associate's degree from Hesser College.

Prior to his illness, he was a maintenance technician with American Water.

Don loved baseball and played in various local leagues throughout his life. He had played little league, Babe Ruth league, and American Legion Post 79 baseball, as well as for Central High and most recently, the Manchester Sunset league.

He was an avid hunter, bingo player, and fisherman. He placed 2nd in the 2005 Lake Winnipesaukee Rotary Ice Fishing Derby. Above all else, Don loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Members of his family include his wife, Dianna (Peloquin) Lafond of Concord; his sons, Larry Ireland Jr. of Weare and Jonathan Lafond of Concord; his daughters, Kristina Olson of VT, Lisa Rein of Florida and Karina Lafond of Cape Coral, FL; twelve grandchildren; his father, Harold Lafond of Manchester; his brother, Richard Lafond of FL; his sisters, Pauline Begin of Newport, NH and Therese Tyeryar of Maryland; several nephew, nieces, and cousins.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Catherine Church, corner of Hemlock and Webster Streets, on Monday January 29, 2007.
