Donald H. Nichols, 66, died Sunday August 19, 2018, at Elliot Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born in North Adams, MA, on November 21, 1951, son of the late Lawrence and Elizabeth (Adams) Nichols.
He was a graduate of Berlin Central High School and honorably served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Earlier in his career, he was a Correctional Officer at the New Hampshire State Prison and then later pursued employment in the trucking industry and courier services.
He was affiliated with the American Legion and the VFW. He loved trips to Florida, fishing, was an avid fan of the New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox. He could always be found making jokes, even at inappropriate times.
He is survived by his daughters, Shawna Labrecque and her husband Guy of Allenstown, and Tammy Swansburg and her husband Kent of New Boston; fiancé Cari-Lee Fielder of Bedford; grandchildren Carly Swansburg, Erin Labrecque, Brady Swansburg; and many siblings.
SERVICES: Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
