Donald N. Squires

He was born in New Haven, CT on June 7, 1936 to Stafford and Elsie (Rusch) Squires. He grew up in New Haven then lived in Bedford for many years.

For many years he owned and operated several retail stores including Church Street Delicatessen in Hamden, CT and Derry Village Store and the Ice Cream Factory in Derry.

Donald enjoyed traveling, fishing and visits to gambling casinos. He especially enjoyed time spent with his grandchildren

The family includes his wife of 56 years, Margaret (Sallah) Squires of Bedford; three children, David Squires and his wife, Lisa, of Lebanon, CT, Craig Squires of Bedford and Kristin Halverson and her husband, Trygve, of Bedford; five grandchildren, Caitlin, Daniel, Jake, Jesse and Brett; three siblings, Stafford Squires and his wife, Carol, of Derry, Audrey Lowe and her husband, James, of Ridgefield, CT and Jeannette Child and her husband, Al, of Texas; and cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. The burial is private and at the convenience of the family.
